Professor Henricus J. H. Brouwers, One Hundred Talents Program Expert, Joining WUT
On 27th April, an appointment ceremony was held at the State Key Laboratory of Silicate Building Materials for Professor Henricus J. H.Brouwers joining WUT as an expert of One Hundred Talents Program of Hubei Province.
Leader of the State Key Laboratory briefly introduced Prof. Henricus J. H. Brouwers’s academic achievements and his long-term cooperation with WUT. WUT Vice President Zeng Chunnian and Prof. Henricus J. H.Brouwers signed on the appointment contract.
Vice President Zeng highly praised Prof. Brouwers for his extensive cooperation and remarkable achievement in promoting RD cooperation with WUT since 1997 when he visited WUT for the first time. Zeng held that new building materials is promising in China and wished that both sides could make joint efforts in the application of scientific results, talent training and team building for further accomplishments.
Prof. Henricus J. H. Brouwers reflected upon the achievements attained out of the cooperation 19 years ago and looked forward to scaling up international scientific and technological cooperation programs by taking advantage of international academic resources.
Prof. Henricus J. H.Brouwers currently works for Eindhoven University of Technology. He was appointed as a WUT guest professor in 2007. His research covers advanced building material and sustainable architecture technology, touching upon cement chemistry, durability of cement based materials, modeling and simulation of building materials, research and design of functional building materials. As a world-recognized expert in building materials, he has published more than 400 papers on authoritative journals and established Eindhoven building material and environment laboratory.
One Hundred Talents Program of Hubei Province, an important strategy for bringing in top overseas talents, is designed to recruit 200 high-level innovative talents in 5-10 years for providing intellectual support to the strategy of the Rising of Central China.
